For over 100 years, the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club was known as a center for riding excellence in the Detroit area and across the state. Originally founded as a foxhunting club, interest in other equestrian activities – from recreational to competition riding and jumping – grew throughout the decades. Accordingly, the facilities evolved and expanded to include a full-service barn, stables and professional riding staff. Soon, GPHC-trained riders were winning ribbons all over the Midwest. And with the addition of both indoor and outdoor show rings, by 1916, the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club was hosting highly regarded horse shows, attracting riders and spectators from near and far.

As of September 1, 2017, the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club turned over an exciting new page in history, becoming Grosse Pointe Equestrian! The historic property is now a privately owned boarding, training and lesson facility specializing in both jumping and dressage! GPE is open to the public with all horse lovers welcome!

Many renovations and improvements have been completed since the change in ownership, including all-new fencing and an addition of indoor and outdoor dressage arenas.  With the recently refinished indoor jump arena and large outdoor jump arena as well, riders have ample room to spread out, and with the addition of new paddocks, horses enjoy generous turnout times.
