Alaska

Alaska is a handsome perlino Paint/Percheron cross. He is level headed, super comfortable, quiet and very sweet. He was selected and purchased several years ago as a green 6yo specifically for GPE’s lesson program and trained accordingly by the owner of GPE. He has successfully competed in First level dressage and is currently training Second. He is our go-to horse for teaching all dressage basics and is also used regularly in our jumping program.

Aurora

Aurora is a registered Andalusian mare purchased for the barn as a green broke 10yo. She has been in full training since she arrived, and has now, several years later, been shown successfully in Dressage through Second Level. Any intermediate level rider would love her especially if they have an interest in dressage or perhaps training a horse over low jumps. Aurora has the most amazingly smooth natural gaits. Her trot is like riding a pillow and every canter stride is a soaring thrill. Our hope is that she will soon become the gold standard in both our schooling and showing aspirations.

Coconut

Say hello to Coconut, our friendly 12-year-old Palomino large pony. Coconut is known for his calm demeanor and easy-going nature, making him a favorite among riders. With a smooth canter that's perfect for beginners learning to ride, Coconut is a patient teacher in the arena. He's capable of jumping up to 2 feet with ease, offering riders a gentle introduction to jumping. Whether you're just starting out or looking for a reliable mount for leisurely rides, Coconut is always ready to make your time in the saddle enjoyable.

Ember

Ember is an smaller, chestnut mare with lovely conformation and lots of talent. Best of all, she is quick to learn and eager to please. She is in high demand with our teens and smaller adult riders. While she is doing great in jumping, we are also beginning to train her for dressage and have high hopes for her in that discipline as well.

Galileo

Leo is GPE’s resident dressage school master. He is privately owned by the barn’s owner and although not originally intended for the school program, we have discovered that he delights in carrying small children about, is calm and forgiving with adult students, and is an excellent teacher for more advanced riders who want to begin learning dressage. He is thoroughly trained in most dressage movements including leg-yield, shoulder-in, travers, renvers, half-pass, turns-on-the-haunches, canter pirouette, etc. And being an Andalusian, he is a wonderful introduction to this responsive, sweet, talented breed!

Jedi

One of our top rung large ponies, Jedi is very dependable over the jumps and thoroughly enjoys his job. In his teens and equipped with Arab stamina, he still has a long career ahead of him. As a former show pony Jedi has the training and talent to teach advanced beginners and up. He is currently being used regularly in our lesson program.

Available for partial lease.

Milkshake

Meet Milkshake, one of the mini members of GPE’s riding school. As a Shetland Pony standing a mere 11hh, Milkshake was purchased especially for our youngest students. Her friendly, cooperative personality, petite size, and unusual coloring, have made her an instant hit. She is working out very well in our program and we expect to be doting on her for long time.

Olaf

Olaf was purchased for GPE a few years ago to fill our need for a larger jumper. With his sturdy Canadian Warmblood conformation and his 17hh of height, he certainly fits the bill. He is a dependable jumper with a kind disposition. After bringing him home to GPE we were pleased to discover that he also has some solid dressage training and is now used in our dressage program as well. He would make an excellent half lease prospect for a taller rider.

Ripley

Introducing Ripley, the beloved school horse at our stables! Standing tall at 16.1 hands, Ripley is a charming grey warmblood with a heart of gold. In his heyday, he graced the show circuits, effortlessly navigating courses up to 3'6 in both equitation and jumpers. After an illustrious career, Ripley gracefully transitioned into a well-deserved retirement from the big jumps, finding joy and fulfillment in teaching school lessons and tackling smaller jumps with enthusiastic riders. With his gentle demeanor and impeccable manners, Ripley quickly wins over the hearts of everyone he meets. Plus, his flawless lead changes add an extra dash of brilliance to every ride. Say hello to Ripley, the epitome of equine elegance and kindness!
